Sweet Stamped Autumn Leaves

Every now and again, I like to get a bit inky.  Not too often as it's not my strengths but sometimes it's good to get out the comfort zone! I pulled out the Autumn Splendour set from Stampin' Up, some Autumnal inks and some embossing powder.  All credit goes to the talented Susan for suggesting the use of vellum as I didn't want to cover up all that background.

Unfortunately I have to blame Susan for suggesting the vellum too....while searching for this I found vellum glaore!  Vellum with stars, stripes, leaves, words, swirls, snowflakes, hearts, sparkles and blue vellum.  So much vellum!  Please leave your vellum usage suggestions in the comment box lol!

This card is made for the Sweet Stampin' challenge where we want to see your Autumn leaves creations this week and we've a wonderful prize for one lucky winner from Crafty Ribbons.  I'd also like to enter in the following fab challenges:

Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes (entry #2)
Simply Papercraft 17 - Anything Goes
The Male Room - Hardware (brads, eyelets, charms etc.....)

The Genius (Occasionally!) xx

Hi Abi, I wanted to say thank you for your kind words on my blog. Thank you for visiting and leaving a note, it's much appreciated and I'm glad also as it made me find your blog and your gorgeous creations. I love this one with the leaves, the inked background with the water splashes is stunning. I also love your crafty resolutions, they very much mirror mine although I haven't written mine down, I will try that for next year! Have a great weekend!! Karola from InvisiblePinkCards

Those leaves look stunning against the inked background and I love the colours. Uses for vellum - well, it always reminds me of the stuff they used as toilet paper in my school days. It was like thin metal, but, as a friend once said, at least you couldn't put your fingers through it. Think I may have lowered the tone... xx

Stunning! Gorgeous background and those delicate white leaves! The vellum was an inspired touch :)- and you used up some of your stash!
I sometimes use scraps of vellum to make flowers, stamped embossed and cut out or die cut, don't use it much otherwise....don't much fancy Tracey's idea...!

There's always one who lowers the tone, and to be fair, it's normally me!!

Yeah, sorry about you now finding lots of vellum. Christmas card with the stars one. Perhaps a nativity scene?

Love the card though, that vellum just sets it off beautifully :P

Vellum just adds a whole other dimension to a card. I love to use it for sentiments like you did. White embossing is always classy. It's super easy to stamp and white emboss an image and then color it on the back too. Nice soft look. Beautiful card Abi. Hugs!

wow abi! this is absolutely gorgeous! kids from the local church came and raked and bagged the leaves in the community (if you signed up for it). i did, tho i only have 1 tree in the front yard and none in the backyard, but my neighbors do and i get their leaves. kids were done in under an hour and i had 3 bags of leaves. go figure!

none, however, as pretty as your card.

have a great week!

hugs :)

This is lovely! I think your inked background is just fab. And I agree that hiding it would be such a shame. Using eyelets to attach the vellum is genius!! Thanks so much for playing along with our Hardware challenge at The Male Room this week!
